Chairman & CEO

Jim Castellanos

James R. Castellanos is a self-made entrepreneur with deep expertise in investment real estate and private lending. As the Founder and Principal CEO of LoanEdge, he has built a leading private lending firm specializing in mortgage-backed real estate loans throughout Silicon Valley and the greater Bay Area. His firm is a trusted financing partner for real estate investors and developers, providing safe, well-capitalized loans backed by core real estate assets.

Mr. Castellanos’ lending philosophy is rooted in the same principles that have driven his success in real estate: strategic investment in well-capitalized assets in prime locations. He prioritizes lending opportunities that offer consistent, reliable returns, ensuring security for investors and liquidity for borrowers.

Beyond his business ventures, Mr. Castellanos served on the Board of Directors for Lighthouse Bank (NASDAQ: LGHT) for seven years before its acquisition by Santa Cruz County Bank in 2019. He is actively involved in shaping the future of real estate education as a member of the Real Estate Curriculum Options Advisory Board at Santa Clara University’s Leavey School of Business. Additionally, he serves on the Board of Directors for the San Jose Police Foundation, supporting initiatives that strengthen community-police relations.

Carrick Young

Carrick is a Managing Director at LoanEdge. Prior to joining LoanEdge, Carrick served as a Director at Cushman & Wakefield, where he focused on Office and R&D Leasing, representing both landlords and tenants throughout the South Bay Area, particularly in Downtown San Jose and near the San Jose Airport. During his time at Cushman & Wakefield, Carrick played a key role in deals totaling over $260 million, was honored with the Americas Achievement Award from Cushman & Wakefield, presented to the top-producing brokers across the Americas.

In addition to his business activities, over the past 8 years, Carrick has successfully invested in a diverse range of properties, including Single-Family Residences (SFR), Multi-family properties, Office spaces, and a Hotel. Carrick is an active alumnus of Santa Clara University, where he earned his degree in Finance with an emphasis in Real Estate. While at Santa Clara, he founded the university's Real Estate Association and currently serves on its Real Estate Advisory Board.

Jimmy Castellanos

Jimmy Castellanos is a Senior Managing Director with Marcus & Millichap’s flagship office in Palo Alto, California. As a Senior Managing Director, Jimmy has quickly established himself as a market leader in real estate investment sales both locally and nationally. Jimmy’s services include market analysis and cutting-edge representation in the acquisition and disposition of commercial real estate. Jimmy specializes in apartment complexes, net-leased investments, and facilitating 1031 exchanges.

A graduate of Santa Clara University, Jimmy earned his Bachelor of Arts degree and quickly distinguished himself as a leader within the university’s real estate community. He is the co-founder of the Santa Clara University Real Estate Association, a current board member for the Leavey School of Business, and a member of the Board of Fellows at Santa Clara University.

In 2025, Jimmy was appointed as one of the youngest Senior Managing Directors in Marcus & Millichap’s fifty-five-year history. His recognition at the firm includes prestigious awards such as the Rising Star Award, Sales Recognition Awards, National Achievement Awards, and the highly coveted Chairman’s Club Award. Since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020, Jimmy has personally closed over Four Hundred Million dollars worth of real estate volume in multiple states and has consistently ranked among the top eight agents out of sixty in his nationally recognized office in Palo Alto.

Jimmy is a proud homeowner in Campbell, California, where he resides with his wife, Emily, and their son, Forrest. In his spare time, Jimmy enjoys spending time in Santa Cruz, playing tennis, fine dining, and international travel.

Managing Broker & Director of Operations

Joe Brunello

Joe is the Managing Broker and a Managing Director at LoanEdge. Prior to joining LoanEdge, Joe was the Director of Operations at Marcus & Millichap for two of the top producing brokerage teams, where he oversaw every aspect of the brokerage process. Throughout his career, Joe has been involved in over $300 million in transactions across multiple states and various product types, including Multifamily, Single & Multi-Tenant Retail, Office, Industrial, and Land.

Joe is a member of the American Association of Private Lenders where he has become a Certified Private Lender Associate. His approach to lending is rooted in responsible underwriting, favoring conservative loan structure that protects both capital and risk-adjusted returns. Joe believes that transparency and communication with borrowers and investors are central to fostering trust and success throughout the lending process. Additionally, Joe has earned his degree from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo where he studied Business and Finance.
